Business Analyst

As part of the projects development teams, the business analyst is responsible for the functional specification and quality control (integrated functional tests) of collaborative and productive applications developed by Orckestra for its clients. With a solid experience in this area, he/she is the direct users’ interlocutor to gather and formalize their needs, and translate them into Use Cases, User Stories and/or Test Cases, while maintaining the traceability of these different elements. In coordination with the Project Manager, he/she organizes the functional test suites, plans the corresponding tests campaigns, reports encountered defects and validates the correction of those defects. Finally, he/she assists the users during their acceptance tests.

Responsibilities

  • Participate, along with the ecommerce business analyst, in the analysis and the authentication of the business needs with the users and the business departments
  • Participate, along with the ecommerce business analyst, and guide the client in the choice of the functionalities while considering the costs, the delays and the advantages in regards to the project development
  • Help the clients to clarify the operational needs regarding the functionalities to be developed or modified. He/She supports the clients in the validation and the understanding of the analysis
  • Help, along with the ecommerce business analyst, the project manager to identify the different resources’ necessary to the project (financial, technical and manpower)
  • Write the functional documentation (interfaces, functionalities, data models, flow)
  • Help define the solutions in order to facilitate the implementation of the client’s business needs, while respecting the limitations and the good use of the imposed technological choices
  • Follow-up on the business needs during the development phases and validate the proposed and evolutionary IT solutions
  • Develop, modify and document the analysis in accordance with the architecture’s specifications
  • Render the clients’ needs in specification and technical requests for the development team
  • Develop, document and give support for the functional, integration and acceptance test strategies
  • Develop and document the implementation’s strategies and the production’s plans
  • Oversee the products and services quality according to the standards and the processes to follow
  • Create the user guide and train the users
  • Help to improve the business analysis’ practices

Requirements

Essential

  • 5 years of experience in business and/or functional analysis in a Web context
  • 5 years of experience in analysing needs for collaboration and enterprise content management portals
  • 3 years of experience in analysing needs around Microsoft SharePoint 2003 and/or 2007
  • Bilingual, French and English, both written and spoken

Assets

  • Experience in an Agile / Scrum context
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft business applications (Commerce Server, Dynamics CRM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio Team System

Please note that the business analyst must be available to travel 10%-15% of the time.
