Orckestra Commerce Cloud Release 5.8

The Orckestra team is excited to announce Orckestra Commerce Cloud version 5.8. This grocery-focused release reflects our continued commitment to innovation, performance, and delivering value to our customers.

Introduction

OCC 5.8 is a feature-rich update focusing on a more intuitive and consolidated approach for online consumers choosing scheduled fulfillment. This release also improves flexibility and efficiency to omnichannel retail operations, as well as a series of improvements across the platform.

Order Management System (OMS) Enhancements

Unified Scheduled Fulfillment Experience

The highlight of this release is the revamped scheduled fulfillment interface in the Order Management System (OMS). Scheduled fulfillment allows users to select a specific timeslot for delivery or pickup—a critical capability in today’s convenience-driven online grocery landscape.

Previously, users had to navigate through multiple steps to choose a fulfillment method, location, and timeslot. With version 5.8, Orckestra introduces a single, unified interface aggregating all available options, with method, location and their respective time slots, into one streamlined view. This not only simplifies the user experience but also reduces friction during checkout.

For example, a customer placing a grocery order can now view all available delivery slots, from a few eligible stores and a warehouse, in one place. The customer can see all available timeslots and prices, compare them easily, and make a selection without backtracking through multiple screens. This enhancement is particularly valuable for retailers offering same-day or next-day services, where slot availability is dynamic and time-sensitive.

Operational Benefits for Retailers

From an operational standpoint, the new interface improves slot capacity and selection logic, ensuring that customers are only shown valid options based on inventory, location, and fulfillment capacity. This reduces the risk of overbooking and enhances fulfillment accuracy.

Retailers can also configure slot availability rules with more flexibility, tailoring the duration, type and price to different store locations or fulfillment methods. Whether managing curbside pickup at a suburban location or coordinating home delivery in a dense urban area, the system adapts to meet the need.

Additional enhancements

Beyond OMS, this release introduces a notable enhancement to the Product Information Management (PIM) module. OCC now supports longer product names handled elegantly from the website, though search results, product details pages and order line item details.

OCC also introduces security enhancements in the form of improvements to personal data security. Orckestra now supports an automatic purge mechanism for data having reached a limit of legal relevance, and Orckestra analytics offers a new customer data portability report in accordance with Law 25 regulations for 2024.

Conclusion

With version 5.8, Orckestra continues to evolve its platform to meet the demands of modern commerce. The new scheduled fulfillment interface is a major step forward in delivering seamless, customer-centric experiences while empowering retailers with the tools they need to operate efficiently.
