Order Management System (OMS) Enhancements
OCC Release 5.9 introduces several impactful improvements to the OMS, empowering retailers with greater control over fulfillment and customer service.
A major highlight is the enhanced support for configurable fulfillment options. Retailers can now define multiple fulfillment methods, such as regular delivery, express delivery, and even same-day delivery, directly within the OMS. These options are dynamically configurable, allowing businesses to tailor options based on cart value, weight, or expected number of shipments to fulfill and ship. This flexibility gives retailers more control, and it also gives online shoppers more choices at checkout, improving satisfaction and conversion rates.
Additionally, the Orckestra Fulfillment App (MSF) introduces improvements in the way it respects the service level, selected at checkout, when booking carriers for shipping. For example, if a customer selects express delivery, MSF ensures that a carrier respecting the definition of “express” is used to meet that commitment. This alignment between customer expectations and backend logistics enhances reliability and trust.
